What is Leap Year?

Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not always a year divisible by the angel number 4. So all you 1990 babes, sorry. A leap year is a year containing one additional day added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year. The construction of our modern calendar took on many rewrites and carvings. Find out more by watching It’s Okay to be Smart‘s video on why February has 28 days plus one.

We’ve been trying to master Universal time by moon and sun for centuries, I find it exciting when we do acknowledge that extra bit of space in our man-made calendar for extra time.

Since the year is traditionally auspicious, we can stop making up excuses attached to our scarcity beliefs and start taking the time we do have with reverence and respect.

Why Mandala?

The art and power of the mandala stems from Hindu and Buddhist belief. The geometric patterns remind me of a colorful spiritual labyrinth and each color and object used to create such a profound wheel in time, must invoke great fortune, lasting love and harmony in time and space itself.

The adult coloring book trend is proving to be quite useful to relieve stress and offer anxious people like me allowance to escape our man-made systems and appreciate art inspired by soul and space.

Together taking the time on February 29th (our extra day) we should commit to major ritual and sustainable flow of energy that will last until the next leap year.

Setting your intentions will be easy when you download my free Leap Year Mandala Attraction ebook.

I go over key life themes to meditate on the special day and recommend free mandala resources for you to print and create your own coloring pages.

You can then share your beautiful masterpieces within our support group on Facebook.

As you sit in sacred space and use specific colors to attract your desires and wishes, the power of mandala and color will imprint your aura until the next Leap Year. The image above is mine specific for love and relationships. The golden yellow represents positivity and strength coming from me while the pink marks compassion and love coming from others.

Until next time, love light and color.
